Bonaire

Bonaire is a rugged peninsula set within the fabulous horseshoe bay of Pollensa, one of the deepest and most well protected on the island. The landscapes are dominated by the blue sea, mountains, valleys and Pine woods resulting in an incredibly beautiful coastline. The small coves are a well-kept secret from the masses and the privileged few that are in the know delight in cool clear waters and views right across the bay to the Port of Pollensa and Formentor.

Snorkeling, diving, kayaking and sailing are some of the favourite summer sports in the area, and in the winter it is a breathtaking landscape for walking, hiking and cycling. There are a few good restaurants and unique is the enchanting bar / restaurant on the cliff top in S’Illot providing great food, cool drinks, a friendly service and for what it lacks in luxury is made up for by the absolutely spectacular sunset views, make the end of your day on the beach very special, highly recommended. With no large hotels the area has remained prestigious and peaceful, with a few basic services including a pharmacy, dive center and a small marina, but only 1.5 km away is the lovely old town of Alcudia or a little further away its Port with all facilities.

In the area of the marina are a number of spectacular water front villas, and summer villas that are treasured possessions of their owners; some have remained in the same families for years. On the approach to the marina on the right hand side is the wonderful residential area of Bonaire, home to fabulous family villas of all sizes and value, most have gorgeous sea views, pool, garden and terraces. Bonaire is simply very special, remaining select and yet being within easy reach of the livelier local towns, we highly recommend that you put it on your to see list.
